      Fixed Term Contract for 3 years

      The School of Engineering is seeking to recruit an outstanding Research Fellow. The main role of this job is to carry out research into Power Semiconductors for use in Electrical Vehicle (EV) technology and Electrical Power distribution systems. The position is funded by the EPSRC for 3 years.

      You will be required to develop high power 3C SiC power devices (1.2kV for automotive and 10kV) for power networks and assist with the supervision of the PhD students in the group. You will disseminate results through project progress reporting and publication of papers in the highest rated international journals and conferences.

      You must possess a PhD (or equivalent) in Engineering or a Power Semiconductor / Energy related subject. Knowledge and experience of semiconductor processing is highly desirable. You must have excellent communication and reporting skills and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a group.
